(1884) Swiss Freudian psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Hermann Rorschach was born. He is best known for developing the Rorschach inkblot test, a test that was designed to expose the subconscious and detect thought disorders, like schizophrenia.  

(1922) South African cardiac surgeon Christiaan Barnard was born. He is known for performing the first successful human-to-human heart transplant.

(1947) Physician and retired NASA astronaut Margaret Rhea Seddon was born. As a physician, she conducted clinical research looking at the effects of radiation therapy on nutrition in cancer patients.
