(1846) American psychologist and educator Granville Stanley Hall was born. His research focused on evolution and child development, where he studied the relationship between adolescence and crime.

(1884) American football player, physician, and local politician Bradbury Robinson was born. As a physician, he was one of the first individuals to warn against the use of DDT, a pesticide that has now been banned in many countries.  

(1923) Canadian businessman Ben Weider is born. He co-founded the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness, an international governing body for fitness and bodybuilding.
